The "festival" was a little smaller than we had expected as it was only a few stalls and nothing else. I appreciate that there were some space limitations at The Roundhouse but I did feel that they could have made a little more of it. On the plus side it was free and they did give out some free food too (onigirazu and miso soup) which was very nice.
There being stalls meant that there was things to buy......
Grape soda
Melon milk. This stuff shouldn't work but it does, it is delicious!
Hello Kitty juice
Hello Kitty fruit sweets
Strange frog jelly sweets
More fun chocolate sweets
Choco banana flavour Pocky!
We had these at Japan Matsuri and just had to get more!
Didn't buy this but here's the kawaii cup that the miso soup came in
There was also an area displaying one of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's outfits from her Fashion Monster video.
There was some entertainment thrown in too with Japanese idol band Musubizm (pronounced muzubizoom). This style of music is really starting to grown on me (hangs head in shame LOL).
As there was some time to kill Zoe and I popped down to Camden and we had dinner at Qing Xi the lovely vegetarian buffet restaurant that I've raved about many times before. Zoe loved it and had five plates of food!
Suitably stuffed we then headed back to The Roundhouse for 1.5 hours of queueing.
I will be honest and say that I wasn't necessarily expecting great things from this gig. It was very nice to be very surprised. The gig was awesome. It was high energy, colourful, fun with some really mad visuals. The songs were absolutely bonkers but that is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu! All the hits were there, Fashion Monster, PONPONPON, Candy Candy, Crazy Party Night etc in a perfectly crafted set.
The gig ended with a shower of confetti and then we had two very happy people!
