Dolmen Grove Essex Imbolc ritual

Toni and I were Essex bound today to meet up with our Dolmen Grove Essex clan. This time though it was for an Imbolc ritual rather than our usual moot. Imbolc, in the Celtic seasonal calendar, marked the beginning of the lambing season and signaled the beginning of Spring and the stirrings of new life. It is time to let go of the past and to look to the future, clearing out the old, making both outer and inner space for new beginnings.

First stop was The Treacle Mine pub in Grays to meet up with some people and then it was off to Jenny & Jim's house.

Last night Toni created a beautiful Brighid doll made from corn husks:

The ritual itself was went really well and was great fun to take part in. Drums, singing, chanting and poetry all fitted in with the more formal ritual parts. Our altar and ritual space looked amazing

After the ritual everyone enjoyed themselves just have a general chit chat and eating and drinking. It was an amazing day and so lovely to be involved in a ritual with kindred spirits.
