Good day, late reviews, Musketeers and Black Sails

Despite it being Monday and being absolutely shattered it was a good day today. Thanks to copious amounts of caffeine I managed to stay awake for the whole day. Comedy moment of the day was Billy Smart announcing that final reviews would be done this week and for us to book a slot in a spreadsheet. The irony is this is that I have emailed him THREE times in the last two weeks asking when he was going to do them and received no reply at all and then he kicks off a meeting with this news and makes himself sound pro-active! Truth is that they should have all been completed by 31st December 2013 so he is ridiculously late in performing a mandatory HR task! Just as well we don't do 360 reviews and I never get asked to provide supplementary feedback isn't it? LOL

Somehow this seemed apt!

After dinner it was time to catch up on some newer shows that we have started watching recently.

The Musketeers continues to be a fun romp courtesy of the BBC. It's all good wholesome fun, good story lines, plenty of action and mixing up seriousness and silliness to boot. We caught up on the last two episodes and can't wait for the next one.

Black Sails fails once again. We tried getting into the second episode but it just seems to have run adrift before it has even started which is a shame. There is no real plot to speak of and I've already grumbled about the flesh shots. I've never ever been so excited by the trailer and the idea of a TV series and then been let down so badly as Black Sails. It's unlikely that we'll be back for a third attempt.
