Weymouth bound

Two days off and time to go away and have a break! WOOHOO!  Bags were packed and we headed to the train station. This was a novelty as normally we drive everywhere but give that there were flood warning pretty for the whole of the route we would have driven we decided to get the train instead as the mainline service from Waterloo to Weymouth was running fine.

It was a simple journey, we grabbed coffee, boarded and then had a relaxing trip.It was amazing and very seeing just how much water had fallen all over the country with large areas of fields now turned into lakes.

We arrived safely and without incident and then took the short walk from Weymouth train station to The Sailors Return where we were booked in.

We had a lovely chill out in our room with a nice cup of tea before venturing out into town in search of somewhere to eat. Our first choice wasn't open so we carried on walking around until we came across The Ship Inn. This was a good choice and we received a nice warm welcome. As we were out and free, and no need for driving, we ordered a bottle of wine. The food was amazing, we had a shared chicken wing platter for starer, steak for the main followed by ice cream and coffee. We were stuffed but very happy and went back  to The Sailors Return to get some rest before an action packed weekend!
